Thomas Jefferson was the principle author of our Declaration of Independence, our first Secretary of State, second Vice-President and third President. Thomas Jefferson designed, built, and furnished for himself and his family. See the books, gadgets, art, furnishings and objects that reveal Jefferson’s unique mind.
Monticello features a new visitors’ center that includes the film “Thomas Jefferson’s World,” museum, and gift shop. You will also take a shuttle bus to the house for your guided tour of the house.
